This role is an amalgamation of operational excellence, business strategy, and the art of candle making. You’ll be at the crossroads of entrepreneurship and craftsmanship.
Position Overview
As the Head of Sales, you will lead our revenue growth strategy, build and manage an exceptional sales organization, establish and deepen customer relationships, and drive expansion across existing and new markets. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, you’ll assume full ownership of sales performance, forecasting, sales process, team hiring, and strategic partnerships. This is a senior leadership role with compensation significantly above market, reflecting the responsibility, visibility, and growth expectations that come with it.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company growth goals, covering all B2B channels (wholesale, retail partnerships, private label) and some B2C channels.
Set ambitious, data-driven revenue targets; produce accurate forecasts; track & analyze sales metrics.
Build, lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team (sales managers, account executives, business development), defining clear roles, KPIs, and sales motions.
Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing major clients; identify and onboard new strategic accounts.
Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, operations, and supply chain to ensure product availability, pricing strategy, and promotional efforts align with sales growth.
Optimize sales processes (CRM, pipeline management, lead generation, proposals, contract negotiations) for efficiency, scalability, and repeatability.
Explore and evaluate new market opportunities, channels, and geographies; lead market entry strategies.
Oversee sales budgets, pricing margins, competitive analysis, and risk mitigation.
Foster a customer-centric culture where feedback loops drive continuous product improvement and service excellence.
Qualifications + Skills:
8+ years of sales leadership experience, ideally in consumer goods, private label manufacturing, or related industries.
Proven track record of growing revenue materially (e.g., doubling or significantly scaling sales), building and scaling sales teams, and entering new markets.
Strong strategic mindset + hands-on execution; able to think long-term but roll up sleeves when needed.
Deep understanding of all sales cycles: prospecting, pipeline management, negotiation, contract close, and post-sale support.
Exceptional leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
Data literacy: comfortable with sales metrics, KPIs, sales forecasting tools, and CRM systems.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to thrive in dynamic, growing company environments where roles evolve, and results matter.
